Finito!

Finally finished up the whale project :) I really like the textural elements compared to the watery effect the bkgrd has. I also tried a new technique with the text-ended up with clear inkjet decal material. I like the look, but I may switch it to paper/ink stamp like the Bicycle by the Sea piece. Not sure yet :) All I know is nothing is safe from changes while it's still in my hands!
The text says:
sun kisses horizon while pale moon emerges
prince of the sky
for a moment, night & day are the same
time between consciousness & dream begins....
i slip into sleep
i wake up in strange places

Again, as in Bicycle by the Sea piece, I wanted a child like feel, like the image is in a dreamy space. I like the idea of childlike minds-their imaginations-although somewhat inspired by life-aren't fixed to what they know of the world. Everything is possible, anything can turn into a sea, a pirate ship, a space ship, a prarie, etc. Anyone can grow wings, fins, or hooves & explore the new & exciting dream in which they've encompassed themselves. Love it :)

Laundry Station project finished? Check!!

Done! Check another project off my list :) I finished up the laundry folding cabinet/counter I started a while back. Finally got the kickboard moulding around the bottom, put the side panels on, & gave it a once over w/ some new white paint. Looks pretty good eh?? Well except for all the crap that's already accumulating on the top of it :) Here's the before & after pics:
All & all the project cost me about $30 for the moulding, side panels, & caulk adhesive I used to help keep the panels tight against the cabinets. The cabinets, countertop, & 2x4's I used for the base were free! Yeah!
